"The best way to predict the future is to invent it." – Alan Kay

Welcome to the homepage of AtomE Group at Yale University, devoted to the advancement of atom manipulation techniques at room temperature using electron beam and the understanding of physical properties of atomic features. Our collective endeavor is centered around the meticulous control of individual atoms involving (1) tailor lattice structures at the atomic scale, (2) manipulation of atomic species, and (3) explore the physical science related to atomic features.

Our research entails many aspects of materials research, spanning across materials synthesis, atomic imaging, optical spectroscopy, device fabrication, and first-principles calculation. The implications of such "atomic engineered materials" span various domains, including quantum information science, single-atom catalysis, semiconductor devices, etc..

Join us on this transformative journey as we invent the future, one atom at a time!

*A note about our logo: "A" consists of the trajectory of electron around the nucleus of an atom, and "E" depicts the side view of layered materials. In fact, "Æ" is a character that exists in many languages that have Latin origins.

**E in AtomE represents "electron", "emission", "element", "engineering", etc.
